This B-25J Mitchell plane, named "Betty's Dream," wears the markings and paint scheme of the 345th Bombardment Wing known as the "Air Apaches." The 345th Bomb Group operated in the Pacific from June 1943 to December 1945 form based in New Guinea where they flew missions against ships, ground targets, and flak positions. the “Air Apaches” B-25J had so pretty distinctive markings, with Apache designs on the tails and unique nose art featuring bats, parrots, and other illustrations.
