The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is the premier close air support ground-attack platform for the United States Air Force. The A-10 is affectionately called the “Hog” for its ability to get down in the mud to support friendly ground troops in close contact. The A-10 is an exceptionally tough and reliable aircraft. It can survive direct hits from projectiles up to 23mm, due to its armor plating and redundant flight control systems. The aircraft is designed to fly with only one engine, half a tail, one elevator, and half a wing. Now that’s what you call tuff.
The A-10 Demo Team performs around the country to showcase the capabilities of this unique aircraft. The team performs selected aerial maneuvers while highlighting the aircraft’s mission. The team showcases the mission of the “Hog” that would not be possible without the pride the professionalism of the men and women servicing in the United States Air force.
